Geometric homogeneity with applications to finite-time stability
This paper studies properties of homogeneous systems in a geometric, coordinate-free setting. A key contribution of this paper is a result relating regularity properties of a homogeneous function to its degree of homogeneity and the local behavior of the dilation near the origin. This result makes it possible to extend previous results on homogeneous systems to the geometric framework. As an ap...
متن کاملLocal Finite-Time Stability and Stabilization Analysis of Interconnected Systems
Interconnection is omnipresent in a system through the state variables and induced for multi-system interaction and shared tasks. Typically, the example of multi-agent coordination was studied as an interconnected system. The paper deals with the finite-time stability problem of a general form of interconnection presented as a perturbation term. Sufficient conditions for finite-time stability a...
متن کاملShelah's stability spectrum and homogeneity spectrum in finite diagrams
We present Saharon Shelah's Stability Spectrum and Homogeneity Spectrum theorems, as well as the equivalence between the order property and instability in the framework of Finite Diagrams. Finite Diagrams is a context which generalizes the first order case. Localized versions of these theorems are presented. Our presentation is based on several papers; the point of view is contemporary and some...
متن کاملLocal homogeneity
We study the expansion of stable structures by adding predicates for arbitrary subsets. Generalizing work of Poizat-Bouscaren on the one hand and Baldwin-BenediktCasanovas-Ziegler on the other we provide a sufficient condition (Theorem 4.7) for such an expansion to be stable. This generalization weakens the original definitions in two ways: dealing with arbitrary subsets rather than just submod...
متن کاملColor Image Segmentation Using Global Information and Local Homogeneity
This paper proposes a new method of color image segmentation considering both global information and local homogeneity. The method applies the mean shift algorithm in the hue and intensity subspace of HSV. The cyclic property of the hue component is also considered in the proposed method. Experiments on natural color images show promising results.
